Meet our pastor
REVEREND JAMES B. ROBINSON
Reverend James B. Robinson, son of the late James T. Robinson and the late Henry and Evelyn Mitchell, is a devoted husband, father, pastor, educator, and retired law-enforcement professional. He is married to the love of his life, Tori Robinson, and is the proud father of two adult sons, James Jr. and Austin, and one daughter, Grace, age 11. Raised in Savannah, Georgia, he now resides in Evans, Georgia, where he continues to serve both church and community with humility and purpose.
Rev. Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Morris Brown College and a Bachelor of Theology from Metro Atlanta Seminary. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Columbia International University and received ministerial training at the Institute of Practical Theology under Drs. William Austin, the late BeverlyAnn Austin, and Dr. Doris Hicks. Since 2024, he has served as a faculty member, at the Institute of Practical Theology, instructing aspiring and current ministers and pastors in the CME structure, as rooted in the CME Discipline and the Bible.
Rev. Robinson recently retired as a State of Georgia Certified Police Officer after a distinguished 25-year career in public safety, serving as Corrections Officer, Deputy Sheriff, Patrolman, Field Supervisor, Narcotics Agent, Narcotics Investigator, State of Georgia Investigator, and Certified Senior Code Enforcement Officer. He now serves as Supervisor of Code Enforcement within the Augusta-Richmond County Planning and Development Department.
He answered his call to ministry in 2017 at Canaan Fair CME Church in Williston, South Carolina under Pastor Kennith Johnson. He was ordained as a Traveling Deacon in 2021 and received his Traveling Elder’s Orders in 2024, both under Bishop James B. Walker. In 2025, he was admitted into Full Connection in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
From 2022 to 2026, Rev. Robinson faithfully pastored Good Hope CME Church in Gilbert, South Carolina, where he became affectionately known as “The Community’s Pastor.” During his tenure, he increased church membership and attendance by 50 percent, implemented Youth Sundays, established the Adam and Eve Ministry for married couples, launched a Community Men’s Ministry involving multiple denominations, and incorporated Grace’s Closet, a youth outreach serving children ages 0–18. He also built strong partnerships with local children’s homes and area schools to meet the needs of underserved families. In recognition of his leadership, he received the Bishop’s Emerging Servant Leader Award during the 2025 Spring Convocation of the 7th Episcopal District from Bishop James B. Walker.
Rev. Robinson is a committed servant leader who believes in carrying out the Great Commission and teaching and preaching the Word of God in ways that everyone—from ages 0 to 100+—can understand. His ministry is anchored in his favorite scripture, Psalm 121, which declares, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” This passage reflects his unwavering trust in God’s guidance, protection, and faithfulness. Rev. Robinson lives out the message of Psalm 121 daily, believing that the Lord watches over His people, keeps them from harm, and preserves their going out and coming in from this time forth and even forevermore. His passion for community ministry, partnerships, and accessible preaching continues to shape his calling and his impact on all who encounter his ministry.
Meet Our First Lady
TORI ROBINSON
Beyond her professional accomplishments, First Lady Robinson is deeply passionate about community outreach ministry and women’s ministries. A lifelong member of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, she has faithfully served the church in numerous leadership and administrative capacities. Her service includes roles as CYF President, Board of Christian Education Director, Sunday School Teacher, Financial Secretary for the Ministers’ Spouses, Widows, and Widowers Department on both the district and regional levels, and Treasurer on both the district and regional levels. Through these positions, she has demonstrated integrity, organization, faithfulness, and a heart for supporting the work of ministry. First Lady Tori is especially committed to creating meaningful spaces for women to be encouraged, strengthened, and spiritually renewed. She enjoys organizing and hosting women’s conferences and ministry gatherings that promote fellowship, discipleship, and the sharing of God’s Word. At their previous pastorate, she hosted an annual Ladies’ Spring Brunch that brought together women from various denominations for worship, encouragement, and Christian fellowship. Her ministry reflects a sincere desire to serve others, uplift women, support the vision of the church, and help build stronger communities through faith, compassion, and service. Her life and ministry are further reflected in 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV): “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” This verse serves as a reminder of the greater things God has prepared for those who love Him and faithfully serve His purpose.
First Lady Tori Robinson is a native of Williston, South Carolina, and the daughter of the late Chester Dicks, Jr. and late Barbara Dicks. Her upbringing in Williston helped shape her strong foundation of faith, service, family, and community commitment. She is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and Webster University, where she earned a master’s degree in health administration. Her academic preparation in science and healthcare administration has supported a distinguished professional career marked by leadership, discipline, and dedication to improving the lives of others. For the past 21 years, First Lady Robinson has served in research and development within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. She is currently employed by Pfizer, Inc. as a Senior Manager in the Global Product Development Vaccine Division. In this role, she contributes to work that is essential to the development and advancement of lifesaving vaccines used throughout the world. Her professional service reflects both scientific excellence and a deep commitment to public health, innovation, and global impact.
gRace robinson
Grace Robinson is 11 years old and a rising sixth-grade student at Westminster Schools of Augusta, where she has attended since PK4. She is the founder and CEO of Grace’s Closet, an outreach organization serving children ages 0–18. Through Grace’s Closet, she helps provide support, encouragement, and resources to children and families in need, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to service at a young age. Under the guidance of her parents and with support from church members, Grace continues to develop partnerships that extend the organization’s reach and strengthen its impact within the community. She enjoys learning, reading, sharing the goodness of God, playing volleyball, spending time with friends, and caring for her mini poodle, Beau. An avid reader, Grace has created a personal library in her room and enjoys books from many genres. She is also musically gifted and plays the piano, cello, and clarinet. Known for her kind spirit and welcoming heart, Grace never meets a stranger and seeks to uplift those who may feel forgotten or discouraged. In 2025, she received the Good Trouble Courageous Faith Award for the 7th Episcopal District at the CME Unity Summit in Memphis, Tennessee, in recognition of her continued service through Grace’s Closet. She has participated in numerous speaking engagements at local churches and annual conference events and helped organize and lead a youth revival in Gilbert, South Carolina, with more than 250 attendees, most of whom were youth. Through her outreach, ministry involvement, and compassionate leadership, Grace continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, youth, and families throughout her community. Her faith and determination are reflected in Philippians 4:13 (KJV): “I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.” This verse speaks to Grace’s continued confidence in Christ as she grows in faith, serves others, and uses her gifts to bless her community.
