Meet our pastor

REVEREND MICHAEL K. HILL
Reverend Michael K. Hill, Sr. is a native of Macon, GA. He is the son of the late Amos and the late Nancy Hill. His parents made sure he attended Sunday Schooland church at Holsey Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Macon, GA. Rev. Hill served faithfully in the choir, Christian Youth Fellowship, Superintendent of Sunday School and the Christian Education Ministry.

Rev. Hill graduated from Northeast High School in Macon, GA, and matriculated at Southern Technical Institute in Marietta, GA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology.

He also matriculated at the Phillips School of Theology at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA, earning a Master of Divinity (MDIV).

 

Rev. Hill has completed the Chaplain Internship Program for Clinical Pastoral Education (Level 1) at Emory Healthcare (Spiritual Health Department) in Atlanta, GA, and the Chaplain Resident Program for the Clinical Pastoral Education (Level 1 and 2) at the Egleston Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, GA. While at Egleston Children’s Healthcare, he provided pastoral and spiritual care to the patients, families and workers of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.

 

In 2003, Rev. Hill received and acknowledged his call to the ministry. He preached his initial sermon at his home church, Holsey Temple C.M.E. Church in Macon, GA. He served as a Licensed Local Preacher for fouryears at his home church and was Ordained Deacon (2007) and Ordained Elder (2009) in the C.M.E. Church by Bishop Othal Hawthorne Lakey. Rev. Hill served as the pastor of Brown Grove C.M.E. Church in Milledgeville, GA, Murray Temple C. M. E. Church in Anniston, AL, and his home church, Holsey Temple C.M.E. Church in Macon, GA.

 

Rev. Hill held several positions for the following agencies and/or companies: State of Georgia Department of Transportation in Atlanta, Macon, and Perry, GA; City of Macon, GA; Amos Hill Construction Company; Tribble & Richardson Engineering Consulting; and Georgia Power. While employed with the State of Georgia Department of Transportation, he held numerous leadership positions, was area engineer (Fulton Co), assistant area engineer (Bibb Co), project manager on multiple construction projects, as well as prepared and managed the maintenance budget.

 

Rev. Hill has been involved with youth and community activities in Macon, GA. He is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

 

Rev. Hill is married to the former Sandra Alexander, a native of Cleveland, Ohio. They have one son, Michael II. Rev. Hill loves people, loves to teach the Word, and loves to inspire lives.

Meet Our First Lady

SANDRA ALEXANDER HILL

Sandra Alexander Hill, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is the daughter of the late John and Hattie Alexander. Her parents made sure she attended Sunday School and church at Lane Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Cleveland, Ohio. She actively participated in the youth choir, Christian Youth Fellowship, and Young Adult Ministry.

Mrs. Hill earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) from Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama, and furthered her education at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. She also completed the National Institute of Corrections' Executive Excellence training program. In December 2015, Mrs. Hill received a Master of Divinity in Christian Education from McAfee School of Theology, Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mrs. Hill began her career as an accountant with a law firm in Cleveland, Ohio, before joining the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons in Morgantown, West Virginia. While working for the Department of Justice, she held several leadership positions in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Prior to retiring in December 2016, she was the Southeast Regional Financial Administrator, and managed financial operations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico. 

A dedicated member of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Mrs. Hill has served in various leadership positions at the local, district and annual conference levels. She is passionate about teaching God’s Word, ministerial development, and community service. Her roles have included Sunday School Teacher, Christian Education and Formation Liaison, Regional President of the Minister’s Spouses, Widows/Widowers Department in Alabama and Georgia, and Lay Leader for the Central Georgia Region. Currently, she serves as the Executive Assistant in the Sixth Episcopal District Office in Decatur, Georgia.

Mrs. Hill has been involved with the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice throughout her career with the Department of Justice. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Federal Bureau of Prisons Retirees Association and the NAACP. 

Mrs. Hill is humbled and grateful to God for the opportunities and blessings afforded her as she continues to serve faithfully in the Kingdom of God.
